Jez Proctor – Diabaram by Innersounds on Mixcloud

This nearly got lost in time. Listening to a mix by Orsii reminded me of it and I found it on someone else’s blog downloaded it and put it up with the others on mixcloud.

This mix is like an old friend now. One of the first I did for ‘public’ consumption…commissioned by a friend for his site. On a really bad turntable set up with a rubbish mixer. I had no plan for it, just knew that it would be jazz, and it would have some kind of journey to it.

The only track I don’t really like is the Doris one. I cringe about that, like an actor who watches their own film.
They don’t just see the performance, but the motivation, the reaction and the acting.

And like them I know I dropped the Doris because it was rare, and not because I loved it as much as the rest.
It still sticks out to me years later. Even though a lot of people dig that track I never really did. Seems a little forced in to me, but nevermind.

There’s always the next mix to aim for perfection…
