brothers on the side…cosmic disco
December 25, 2007
Cosmic Disco opened my eyes to what a music blog can really achieve. Writing their own pieces, seeking out their own interviews, putting on club nights, and creating fresh new mixtapes. Makes my meagre efforts seem rather pointless and self-indulgent really…
I was floored when they wrote back to say they would be interested to answer my questions for this series. Which goes to prove, not only do they have excellent taste in music, a stellar blog and a way with the ladies, but they are also thoroughly nice chaps as well.
Please enjoy my all too brief chat with the fellas behind Cosmic Disco…

WHY MP3S, AND WHY NOW?
We post podcasts & mixes in mp3 format but we made a conscious decision to stay away from becoming a ‘mp3 blog’ by concentrating on our radio podcasts, mixes and interviews to become more of a musical portal as opposed to a straight up mp3 blog. A ‘Blog Not Blog’ if you will.
WHAT BAND OR PRODUCER IS REALLY DOING IT FOR YOU RIGHT NOW?
Baggy: Chromatics/Glass Candy (Italians Do It Better) Studio, AMO1, and Sorcerer to name only a few. 2007 has been a really strong year for quality new releases. The beauty of music being you could live several lifetimes and never stop discovering new music be it from the past or present.
Niles: I am a big fan of the French electro labels so Sebastian, Justice, Uffie, Busy P, Boys Noize, The Whip and people like that. There is too much good music being produced at the moment. It’s ace.
THP: Chromatics with out a shadow, Keith, Balkan Beatbox, 80hertz plus all the above and then some.
OTHER THAN LIKING THEIR TRACK WHAT WOULD A BAND OR LABEL HAVE TO GIVE YOU TO MAKE YOU POST ON THEM?
Baggy: Vinyl, money, groupies, beer, sweets, merchandise, that kind of stuff, y’know.
Niles: Unrequited love.
THP: I like free stuff.
IF YOU COULD GET ANY WRITER OR MUSIC EVENT EXCLUSIVE FOR YOUR BLOG, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Baggy: To interview Cliff Richard and him openly come out as being a lifelong Homosexual.
Niles: Cliff Richard revealing his boyfriend of the last 10 years to be Baggy.
THP: Cliff Richard going into detail about a ménage a trios involving Pete Masters and Baggy whilst repeatedly listening to Devil Women.

AND FINALLY
A TRACK FOR THE READERS OF INNERSOUNDS…
Baggy: I could pick any track from this album but decided to go for the title track from Hendrix’s - Bold As Love as it’s got everything I love about Jimi in one single track. I got heavily got into Psycadelic Rock from the age of about 12 when I started to play guitar, which resulted in me performing in several small time art school bands throughout my teens, this track reminding me of the start of what is still an ongoing period of absorbing anything musical.
