can you feel it… now that spring has come

April 23, 2009

A couple of reasons this track jumped out at me tonight.  One is the decent spring-esque weather we are having (in Central London – can’t speak for the rest of you).

And the other is that I am hyper-ventilating over my trip to LA in a week.

Home of Bukowski, The Doors, The Whiskey-A-Go-Go, the Sunset Strip, The Troubadour, CSN&Y, Motley Crue, Amoeba Records, Venice Beach, the best DJ in the World, and a heap load more.

I only discovered the “real” LA once I had already been there as a kid and done the Universal studios tour.  When I was a teen I learned about the real freaks that populated deep, dark LA, in all the books and music I got in to… and I have not had the chance to go back there since.  I’m supposed to be working, but I’m hoping to find time to do a little digging too…

Hope you had a good trip. You were here in L.A.’s spring sweet spot: cool nites and long top-down cruise-around days. Any fresh discoveries to share with the natives? Where should a hard-working L.A. Daddy go on a Friday nite to loop into the eternal now?
