This is a pretty straight forward version with a few jazzy flourishes, but the tune is always there or there abouts. I’ve never found Tamba Trio to be on the experimental or adventurous end of the spectrum. Good for a song and a dance, but not going to blow your mind. Tamba Trio – Reza

Percy Faith’s ‘Black Magic Woman’ LP is a treasure-chest of lounge-core classics. And nestled halfway through side B is this version of ‘Reza’ which actually tries to get on the good foot. From my favourite Brasilian combo, the Sambalanco Trio. Their trade mark soft-loud-louder-soft sound is not present on this one, but their musicianship and ever inventive playing around a tune is clearly evident. Enjoy. Sambalanco Trio – Reza
