dear limmertz

June 19, 2008

The sun is back with us for a short while at least.
Made me dig out my Brasilian box which I think I’ll go through over the next few days.
Shocking how we forget tunes, but such a joy to revive them later at the right moment.

Here’s a worn out copy of Dear Limmertz from the Outubro LP. It snaps and pops a bit near the end, so apologies for that. This was a huge track for me out in Japan in the late ’90s early ’00s. I first heard it played by one of the UFO guys and it stayed in my head till I found a copy.
The 12″ has a hefty price tag on it, but the LP can be found cheap if you look.

In other news props to Jak and Christoph for moving the crowd last night at Favela Chic. An immense night where us oldies (including members from excellent music blog Dilated Choonz) were asked to move our table so the kids could dance! A jumping set of homespun edits and unreleased remixes that got wild responses from the crowd.

And boys - that ‘Jackin’ track needs to come out! Do it now!

Azymuth - Dear Limmertz

Great to hear some Azymuth being blogged.
A staple of anyones Brasilian jazz/funk/fusion collection. Jazz Carnival still floats my boat big time.

    cheers jezzy.

at least 80% of deejaying is the audience-so thanks for making it down.

when we get that ‘jack of all trades’ track sorted-you’ll be first to know.
