going under

I took this from a 12″ promo that I have of the single, but it found its real home on the K&D Sessions mixtape. Worth its weight in gold, if you haven’t got a copy of the K&D Sessions on CD, Vinyl or mp3 you better ask somebody.
(I wanted to say that in ‘American’ but it would read ‘you better axe somebody’ which is not really the same sentiment…)
Not trip hop, and not just chillout. The mid-90s reworks and remixes of Kruder and Dorfmeister, Austria’s biggest musical exports since W. A. Mozart, are little symphonies of aural genius. They glow with a warmth and beauty. True, K&D had a sound that was oft repeated, but why not? It worked. While other remixers were giving Roni Size and Alex Reece fatter and faster basslines, K&D were cutting the bpms and adding a shuffling bossa beat.
And who else could make both Depeche Mode and Madonna sound relevant to club culture teenagers in the last decade of the twentieth century?
Which celebrates another point. K&D’s breadth of taste. Major label / minor. Rock /Pop Reggae / R’n'B or Drum and Bass. All got equal treatment in the K&D labs.
Here they remix Birmingham trio Rockers Hi-Fi…

The K&D sessions and Coldcuts Journey by DJ are 2 of the best mixes ever. I always have them on.
Rockers Hifi are excellent. Part of the Ambient Dub scene.
Man! This track is just great. Since I first heard it - like 2 hours ago I just had to find it.
Thanks for posting it, m8!
That’s right Peyn, killer grooves from K&D. The album is a must (pictured above) the 12″ is a little harder to find.
