hideki disco special

So I’m wading through 100s of A-sides, B-sides, C-sides and D-sides to put together this mix of some of the best records that I brought back from Japan; and I thought I’d share some of the close but not quite, as well as the down right nasty on the blog.
I wasn’t just buying Japanese music out there, so the mix will have all kinds of things on it. But when I was buying Japanese bits, as I can’t read the language, it was all about the cover. If I spotted some mirror shades, a fat collar and a thoughtful looking dude smoking a cigarette under a wide brimmed hat - chances are that record was coming home with me…
That led to a few discoveries, like the sweet off-kilter disco track I call ‘Man in tight trousers standing in a field, looking thoughtful’ or the New Wave ’80s track I call ‘Noir-ish band in half-shadows wrapped tightly in rain coats with Duran Duran hair and make up’.
Today’s track was very kindly labeled in English. But it wasn’t until I got back to England that I realised the full potential of “Hideki’s Disco Special”…

“Noir-ish band in half-shadows wrapped tightly in rain coats with Duran Duran hair and make up.” Haha, that sounds like Buck-Tick! They’re great. I love Japanese music. Thanks for the track, I look forward to more!
Dear God - i think i just broke something when falling off my chair! Superb find!
