maybe I’m crazy…

July 20, 2008

I totally didn’t get this tune - or its success when it came out.  Not having a radio - or an ear for pop - I didn’t hear it that much, but still, when I did, I thought it was average.

It was only after the hype and the album (which I didn’t check either) had died off,  that I realised I wanted to hear the song again.  Which is usually a good sign.  So I bought it, and listening to it at home without all the crap around it, it is a good track. And worth its space on my shelves.

Gnarls Barkley - Crazy

I love this one, I have since it came out. It is the last great pop tune that I can remember. I played it in house and disco sets on promo here in the US before it really blew up here.

Thanks Murray! Interesting to hear that.

Tom - I can’t picture you playing something like that now though, right? Now that it has crossed over? Really?

it all depends, really. i mean, i play some pop songs in my sets. recent jams by robin thicke, justin timberlake, and that white canadian chick who did tracks with timbaland all make it in there from time to time!
